Job description
Reporting to the ICT Service Desk Manager, this role plays a key part in the smooth running of the ICT Service Desk, supporting Assembly Members, Party Support and Secretariat staff within Parliament Buildings, as well as MLA constituency offices across Northern Ireland. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality technical support and advice via phone, email and in person
- Diagnosing, resolving and following up on ICT issues to ensure full resolution
- Classifying, prioritising and documenting incidents, implementing preventative measures
- Patching and updating operating systems and software, ensuring appropriate cyber security measures
- Supporting secure remote access and smart devices
- Managing asset and configuration management systems, ensuring accurate tracking and logging
- Supporting hardware and infrastructure within the Assembly Chamber, including the voting system and remote participation facilities
- Building effective relationships with senior stakeholders, providing advice and guidance
- Supporting delivery of technical projects and adoption of new technologies
- Managing information and records in line with statutory and organisational requirements
- Ensuring compliance with Equal Opportunities, Dignity at Work policies and all Assembly Commission procedures
This is a highly visible role within a fast-paced and demanding environment, requiring strong technical capability and excellent stakeholder engagement skills. The Person Applicants must demonstrate one of the following: Option 1
Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Computing or a relevant ICT discipline (minimum 50% computing content)
AND * At least 1 year's post-qualification experience in a challenging ICT Service Desk environment supporting 500+ users including experience in the following:
- Managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory / Azure Cloud services and Microsoft Identity.
- Managing and maintaining devices / applications using Microsoft tools such as IN Tune, Defender, Systems Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) version.
- Support of Microsoft Windows 10 (or later) based desktop equipment., * At least 3 years' experience in a challenging ICT Service Desk environment supporting 500+ users in a wide range of disciplines including the following:
- Managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory / Azure Cloud services and Microsoft Identity.
- Managing and maintaining devices / applications using Microsoft tools such as IN Tune, Defender, Systems Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) version.
- Support of Microsoft Windows 10 (or later) based desktop equipment.
