The Technical Programme Manager for Checkouts leads delivery across the Assisted and Self-Checkout technology estate. This role ensures the safe, predictable and well-coordinated delivery of changes across SCO devices, POS systems, payment flows, peripheral hardware, software releases, integrations and store operations.
The Checkout TPM works across Product, Engineering, Store Operations, Architecture, Cyber Security and multiple vendors (including hardware & payments partners) to manage sequencing, dependencies and operational readiness for all checkout-related change. They are responsible for planning, risk management, cross-team coordination, rollout preparation, and ensuring that colleague and customer impact is minimised.

Requirements
- Proven experience in technical programme management within large-scale infrastructure or cloud transformation.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure (networking, servers, cloud platforms, security).
- Expertise in governance, risk management, and customer communication.
- Ability to lead sophisticated dependencies and deliver outcomes in fast paced environments.
- Excellent leadership, influencing, and problem-solving skills.

What you'll do

Define programme objectives, success metrics, and governance frameworks.

Develop coordinated plans, manage dependencies, risks, and budgets.

Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, senior leadership, and business stakeholders.

Partner with Engineering Managers and Solution Architects to ensure technical feasibility and quality.
