Senior Machine Learning Scientist

We are hiring a Senior Machine Learning Scientist I to join a high-impact Ads Machine Learning team within a large-scale online travel and e-commerce platform. The team builds Machine Learning solutions that power Sponsored Ads across a global marketplace, enabling partners to reach the right travellers at the right moment while protecting customer experience and conversion. In this senior role, you will own end-to-end ML solutions for key advertising use cases. You'll apply advanced modelling techniques to improve relevance, performance and revenue, while also shaping modelling strategy, shared ML frameworks and overall technical standards within the team., * Translate broad business problems into clear ML/AI challenges and research plans within production constraints

• Lead the development of machine intelligence strategies for a product area, balancing short-term impact with long-term value
• Independently design and build proof-of-concepts to test new ideas and demonstrate value
• Drive the full ML lifecycle, from requirements and data discovery through to batch and streaming production pipelines
• Develop production-grade ML code with a strong focus on scalability, latency, real-time requirements, monitoring and retraining
• Build readable, reusable code using appropriate technologies and coding methodologies
• Create impact through rapid prototyping and strategic scale-up in collaboration with other teams
• Promote platform-based development and reuse across domains
• Apply cross-disciplinary ML/AI approaches to solve complex problems
• Coach and mentor other ML practitioners, clearly explaining advanced technical concepts
• Stay up to date with developments in ML/AI and continuously evolve technical expertise
• Own data management responsibilities in line with data governance standards (quality, lineage and modelling)

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience as a Machine Learning Scientist or similar
• Strong experience in ranking, recommender systems, personalisation or e-commerce (highly preferred)
• Master's, PhD or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, AI, etc.)
• Strong Deep Learning experience, ideally with large-scale or sequential models
• Proficiency in Python with strong working knowledge of Spark and SQL
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch is a plus
• Experience deploying ML models into production environments
• Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal
