Job description
You will lead and manage the Management Information Systems (MIS) function, ensuring data is accurate, compliant, and effectively used to support funding, performance, and service delivery. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with DfE, DWP, and funding body requirements, while delivering high-quality reporting and insights to senior stakeholders., Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the MIS team, supporting performance and development
- Oversee day-to-day MIS operations, planning, and funding processes
- Provide leadership across data, reporting, and compliance functions
Funding Compliance & Data Quality
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of Individualised Learner Record (ILR) data
- Monitor funding rules and maintain compliance with DfE, DWP, and funding regulations
- Conduct audits and data validation using tools such as PDSATs and funding reports
- Act as a subject matter expert for funding compliance and data integrity
Data Reporting & Insights
- Develop and manage MIS processes using SQL and database systems
- Produce dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI
- Deliver performance reports, trend analysis, and funding forecasts
- Support Self-Assessment Reviews (SAR) and Quality Improvement Planning (QIP)
Operational & Service Support
- Work closely with curriculum teams, HR, and senior leaders
- Ensure accurate learner enrolment and eligibility checks
- Maintain systems and respond to data requests effectively
- Support inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes (including Ofsted)
Requirements
Essential:
- Significant experience managing MIS functions (ideally within education, skills, or funding environments)
- Strong leadership experience, including managing and developing teams
- Proven experience with ILR submissions and funding compliance
- Advanced data analysis and reporting skills
- Experience with SQL, MIS systems (e.g. ProSolution), and Power BI
- Strong knowledge of DfE funding rules and adult education processes
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Desirable:
- Experience within local government or council-run services
- Knowledge of SAR, QIP, and Ofsted requirements
- Experience working across multi-disciplinary education or employability services
- Understanding of HR systems and Single Central Record (SCR), * Management Information Systems (MIS): 2 years (required)
