We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join the Client's Data team.

You will play a critical role in shaping and implementing enterprise-scale data platforms that support advanced analytics, reporting and data governance., * Utilise cloud technologies and modern programming languages to develop and maintain centralised data platforms supporting both operational and strategic business needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate data requirements into actionable requests or delivered solutions.
- Work closely with project managers to coordinate and prioritise data requests in a controlled, effective manner.
- Lead the development and ongoing improvement of technical data standards, ensuring all data products are compliant.
- Act as the Data Workstream Lead for change portfolios, providing strong technical direction and design guidance aligned with the overall data strategy.
- Manage and review the work of assigned engineers and offshore partners, mentoring team members and promoting best practices.
- Ensure all data processes and reports are accurately documented, with data governance and quality standards consistently applied and continuously improved.
Requirements
- Strong working knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes and programming languages including SQL, Python and PySpark.
- Experience working with cloud-based BI and MI platforms, such as Azure, Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric.
- Proven experience leading development workstreams within data-centric or technical programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to implement best-practice approaches to data security, quality and governance, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical explanations.
- Comfortable working accurately under pressure in fast-paced environments, with strong prioritisation skills.
- Proven experience building and maintaining effective relationships internally and externally.
