The role sits within the Chief Engineering Platform Office (CEPO) delivery area, as part of Contact Engagement Platforms (CEP), specifically the Batch Operations team., Within Batch Operations we schedule, run, support Batch services across Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) and Modern Virtual Environment (MVE) platforms for over 100 national infrastructure services.
Working as part of an established team, you will be responsible for carrying out operational testing activities as part of HMRCS development service providing projects/services with key information required to make informed decisions regarding solutions, its individual components and suitability for acceptance into the live production environment.
In this role you will contribute to the Clone activities by executing tests, analysing results, logging and supporting test incidents using a variety of scheduling tools such as Tivoli Workload scheduler (TWS), managing access to virtual environments for use by third party suppliers., * Perform database restores, the installation of Code releases, reporting of defects, updating and maintaining both Project and Team documentation.
- Execution of Batch suites at the request of Support teams in both Tivoli Workload scheduler (TWS) or Modern Virtual Environment (MVE)
- Working closely with Capgeminis Maestro support team, Configuration Management and also the wider Batch Operations Event Management team.
- Keep project progress documentation up to date
- Complete an Operational Test Plan with accurate activities and schedule
- Maintain the System Reference Files with details for future projects
- Complete an Operational Test Report with accurate results and timings
- Attend Project/Implementation Meetings when required
- Test Incident (Defect) logging, investigation and support.
- Collection of testing-related measurements and metrics.
- Maintain clone environments ensuring they mirror the status of their live counterparts, As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide the following:

Reserve List

Merit List
After interview, a single merit list will be created, and you will only be considered for posts in locations you have expressed a preference for. Appointments will be made in strict merit order in line with the set number of roles in each location.

Hybrid working at HMRC

Requirements
We are looking for someone with a broad IT experience including practical understandings of MS365, SharePoint, ITSM tooling and practices. Have security awareness and experience of escalation management., * Experience in UNIX and MVE operating systems.
- SQL Database queries Knowledge of large batch systems and how they are supported from an operational perspective.
- Working knowledge of key support applications such as TWS, Unix & Linux.
- General IT skills capability but in-depth knowledge in areas of technical specialisation. (The latter can be learnt within the role.)
