Job description

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer you'll work closely with the QA Lead to help improve and deliver the Test Strategy and within your Squad you'll help to drive our efforts to build up robust automation test frameworks and quality gate criteria to support our replatform of our service.

You will act as principal gate-keeper for Quality Assurance throughout the environmental promotion of releases primarily within your Squad, but may be asked to support a wider scope.

You will have a good understanding of agile ceremonies and ways of working and how this might influence QA best practices. and you will be keen to embrace AI in ways that support the QA processes and knowledge sharing activities whilst ensuring all governance and regulatory compliance requirements are met and risk is mitigated, but you will not be led by AI.

Requirements

  • You have proven solid experience using the Playwright (JS/TS) testing framework and are able to build, structure and maintain automated tests and their supporting frameworks from the ground up as well as contribute to existing frameworks and meet internal standards.
  • You have proven solid experience in testing APIs and back end services, have experience of Postman or an equivalent toolset and can build supporting automated test suites.
  • You understand what good looks like, can build out supporting approaches and can effectively communicate these to members of Engineering.
  • You understand and be able to identify Acceptance Criteria with Product Owners and teams and must be able to elicit test conditions, scenarios and supporting test data from these ACs.
  • You have a solid understanding and experience of functional and non-functional testing approaches.
  • You have experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and DevOps tools and DevOps best practices and how QA plays its part.
  • You have experience with basic development tools like Git and Azure DevOps.
  • You have experience writing basic SQL queries.
  • You will have a drive to continuously improve quality through 'shift left' practices within your Squad & QA automation practices.
