A well-rounded Design Engineer II who owns ground-up, multi-product development from concept through production. Depth in testing alone or incremental redesigns is insufficient. Priority is placed on breadth of product exposure, early-stage design ownership, cost awareness, and independent execution in a cross-functional environment
3D CAD proficiency with SolidWorks
Ownership across the full product lifecycle, from concept through production
Mechanical design for electromechanical products
Plastic injection molded part design
Aluminum casting design
Sheet metal product design
Prototyping, modeling, simulation, and testing
Engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, BOMs, and quality requirements
Product validation, pre production builds, and transfer to production
Competitive patent analysis
Understanding of codes, standards, and regulatory testing
Materials, components, and technology research
Eco design principles and environmental impact reduction
Skills
Design, PDM Experience, DFMEA, Tolerance stack up analysis, Vendor and tool shop collaboration, contract manufacturing engagement, eco design and sustainability principles, Materials research, competitive benchmarking, simulation experience, offshore team collaboration

This is a Permanent position based out of West Hartford, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
