This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Information Systems Division (ISD) is seeking two motivated, detail oriented, and solution driven Information Technology (IT) Associates to join the Governance & Project Management Branch as Intake Analysts. These positions offer an excellent opportunity to work at the intersection of technology, process improvement, and project delivery contributing to high visibility initiatives that support DMV's modernization efforts. Under the general supervision of the IT Manager I, the Intake Analyst plays a key role in Business Technology Management and Client Services, helping ensure that technology projects, service requests, and release activities are effectively evaluated, prioritized, and executed. Intake Analysts collaborate with technical teams, business partners, and project stakeholders to:
Supports business analysis and performance evaluation activities.
- Provides intake service request support and help refine intake workflows.
- Facilitates release management processes, including readiness checks, coordination, and post release reviews.
- Assists with project management coordination across technical and business teams.
- Develops and delivers IT training and contribute to process improvement initiatives that streamline governance functions.
This role is essential to strengthening ISD's intake and governance processes, improving service delivery, and ensuring alignment between departmental business needs and technology initiatives. Intake Analysts help set up, refine, and ensure the smooth operation of the tools that support ISD's intake, release management, and governance processes.

Requirements

- One (1) or more years of experience working with cross-functional teams to gather
- information or help evaluate incoming requests.
- One (1) or more years of experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of release management activities such as planning, coordination or reviewing changes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues and suggest practical solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project management concepts.
- Project Management certification and experience is desired.

Travel expenses related to reporting to the designated office is the employee's own responsibility and is not eligible for reimbursement.
