Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Desktop Support Contractor to assist a major organization in the insurance and financial-services industry. This role is part of a fast-paced device deployment and asset-management operation, supporting enterprise technology needs including new-hire onboarding, equipment refresh cycles, and break/fix scenarios. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a depot/warehouse environment, and capable of handling both technical imaging tasks and physical equipment movement., As a Desktop Support Contractor, you will work within the client's device build and deployment area to prepare, image, and ship hardware for end users. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing devices from stock and performing imaging for new hires, break/fix, and refreshes
  • Updating asset records in SharePoint and internal depot databases
  • Collaborating with the internal support center (ISC) to confirm deployments and shipments
  • Setting up devices on the network in preparation for end-user distribution
  • Receiving, inventorying, and shipping equipment
  • Performing data wipes on iPhones for disposal or refurbishment
  • Handling general depot tasks to support operational success
  • Safely performing physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, or pulling equipment (up to 50 lbs.)

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, process-driven responsibilities, and contributing to a high-volume operational support team.

Requirements

  • Experience in desktop support, hardware deployment, or a similar technical support function
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with imaging processes and preparing devices for users
  • Basic understanding of device setup, configuration, and network preparation
  • Ability to perform data wiping on mobile devices (e.g., iPhones)
  • Strong attention to detail for updating asset systems and maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to work independently and follow established technical procedures, * Experience working in a depot or hardware logistics environment
  • Previous exposure to enterprise-level hardware refreshes and new-hire device preparation
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, asset-management tools, or similar platforms
  • Understanding of ITIL or structured support workflows
  • Prior experience supporting Windows-based environments and mobile device sanitation processes
