Job description
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support a major enterprise in the property-casualty insurance and financial services industry. In this role, you will focus primarily on on-premise DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) operations while contributing to growing initiatives in cloud integration and automation. You will partner with a distributed team of network engineers to maintain the reliability, scalability, and security of critical infrastructure services that support a nationwide business footprint., On-Premise DDI Management (80%)
- Design, implement, and manage enterprise DDI infrastructure using Infoblox solutions
- Administer DNS, DHCP, and IPAM across on-premise data centers and large campus networks
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize DDI services to maintain 99.9%+ availability
- Perform capacity planning and scaling for growing IP and DNS/DHCP requirements
- Manage Infoblox appliance upgrades, patching, and lifecycle maintenance
- Apply security best practices for DDI, including DNSSEC, RBAC, and access controls
- Respond to and resolve DDI-related incidents, service requests, and escalations
- Maintain accurate IP address allocation, subnet documentation, and lifecycle records
Cloud Platform Integration (10%)
- Integrate on-premise DDI services with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Support hybrid DNS architectures across on-premise and cloud environments
- Collaborate on cloud migration initiatives requiring DNS, DHCP, and IPAM extensions
- Ensure cloud workloads receive appropriate DNS/IPAM configurations
Automation & Service Development (10%)
- Contribute to the development of automation tools for DDI workflows
- Assist in building self-service capabilities for common DDI requests
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices for configuration consistency
- Develop monitoring/alerting tools for proactive service management
General Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for DDI architecture and operations
- Collaborate closely with network, security, and infrastructure teams
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Participate in change management processes and on-call rotations
- Stay current with DDI advancements, emerging standards, and industry best practices
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Infoblox DDI solutions (NIOS, Grid, DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
- Deep understanding of DNS protocols, including DNSSEC; robust DHCP and IPAM expertise
- Proven experience managing enterprise-scale on-premise network infrastructure
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving complex network and DDI issues
- Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLAN architecture, and routing fundamentals
- Experience with network monitoring and management toolsets
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in both onsite and remote team environments, * Experience integrating DDI services with hybrid or multi-cloud environments
- Familiarity with automation frameworks, APIs, or Python-based tooling
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
- Knowledge of enterprise security standards related to DNS, DHCP, and IP planning
