Job description

Support mission-critical distributed operations-securing and maintaining systems that power Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) training, simulation environments, and Battlespace infrastructure for Distributed Mission Operations (DMO). A Day in the Life - What you'll do

  • Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems, servers, and mission applications.
  • Manage system accounts, permissions, directory services, and policies within Active Directory environments.
  • Perform system monitoring, log analysis, resource management, and performance optimization to ensure system reliability.
  • Support and maintain virtualized environments including VMware ESXi, storage provisioning, and virtual networking.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore system functionality.
  • Support system integration and testing activities in collaboration with engineering and simulation teams.
  • Maintain system documentation including configuration baselines, technical procedures, and operational artifacts.
  • Support system operations during mission exercises, integration events, and testing windows.
  • Collaborate with network engineers, software developers, mission operators, and cybersecurity teams to support mission objectives.
  • Present system status, findings, and technical issues to stakeholders and leadership as required.
  • Ensure system availability, reliability, and readiness to support mission execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or 5-7 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • Ability to obtain an active DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Special Access Programs (SAP) and SCI
  • Experience administering and securing Windows and Linux systems in compliance with NIST SP 800-53 / RMF frameworks
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification required
  • Experience maintaining cybersecurity documentation, system artifacts, and audit evidence
  • Experience identifying system vulnerabilities and recommending remediation strategies
  • Familiarity with system requirements development, validation, and verification processes
  • Experience supporting DoD systems, platforms, or mission environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently, * Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi, storage provisioning, and virtual networking
  • Experience in hardware testing, reverse engineering, or embedded system environments
  • Experience operating in cross-domain or multi-network environments
  • Experience supporting government agencies or large-scale defense programs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively
