Job description
Support mission-critical distributed operations-securing and maintaining systems that power Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) training, simulation environments, and Battlespace infrastructure for Distributed Mission Operations (DMO). A Day in the Life - What you'll do
- Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems, servers, and mission applications.
- Manage system accounts, permissions, directory services, and policies within Active Directory environments.
- Perform system monitoring, log analysis, resource management, and performance optimization to ensure system reliability.
- Support and maintain virtualized environments including VMware ESXi, storage provisioning, and virtual networking.
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore system functionality.
- Support system integration and testing activities in collaboration with engineering and simulation teams.
- Maintain system documentation including configuration baselines, technical procedures, and operational artifacts.
- Support system operations during mission exercises, integration events, and testing windows.
- Collaborate with network engineers, software developers, mission operators, and cybersecurity teams to support mission objectives.
- Present system status, findings, and technical issues to stakeholders and leadership as required.
- Ensure system availability, reliability, and readiness to support mission execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or 5-7 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Ability to obtain an active DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Special Access Programs (SAP) and SCI
- Experience administering and securing Windows and Linux systems in compliance with NIST SP 800-53 / RMF frameworks
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification required
- Experience maintaining cybersecurity documentation, system artifacts, and audit evidence
- Experience identifying system vulnerabilities and recommending remediation strategies
- Familiarity with system requirements development, validation, and verification processes
- Experience supporting DoD systems, platforms, or mission environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently, * Active DoD Top Secret clearance
- Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware ESXi, storage provisioning, and virtual networking
- Experience in hardware testing, reverse engineering, or embedded system environments
- Experience operating in cross-domain or multi-network environments
- Experience supporting government agencies or large-scale defense programs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively
