Job description

IT Operations Analyst

The Department of Administration's (Admin) Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) oversees the state's federated model for implementing, enhancing and protecting information technology resources and the unitization of shared services. The Division of Technology Operations (DTO) within OTIS manages IT infrastructure, data services, and technology support for state agencies. As an IT Operations Analyst for DTO, you will be involved in the innerworkings of our technology projects, building your knowledge of each initiative so you can effectively measure our progress. This position will be responsible for tracking work efforts and team initiative status, monitoring resource allocation across teams, identifying capacity risks and ensuring DTO leadership has accurate and timely information to support decision-making., + Establish and maintain a centralized view of all active work efforts, operational initiatives, and strategic efforts across DTO. Develop and maintain tracking dashboards and reporting tools to support decision making and resource allocation.

  • Monitor and analyze resource utilization across DTO operational teams to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and critical work efforts. Track operational team capacity across projects and operational workloads, ensuring to identify over-allocated or underutilized resources.
  • Support DTO planning and ensure alignment between strategic goals and execution of tasks. Develop and maintain meaningful operational metrics that help to support decision making. Identify trends and areas requiring leadership attention.
  • Provide high-level coordination and administrative support to enhance leadership awareness and decision making. Track required follow-up items and commitments.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and experience in computer system development and modification. A bachelor's degree in a related area may substitute for the required work experience., + Moderate knowledge of capabilities and intricacies of information systems.
  • Ability to analyze and reduce to logical order moderately complex technical data.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with users, vendors, and other IT personnel.
  • Ability to assist with identifying and resolving problems.
  • Ability to assist with planning, directing, instructing, and reviewing the work of technical personnel.
  • Ability to assist with providing status reports and other technical reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Position may require employee to work evenings and weekends.
  • Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
