Job description
Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information. -Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications as needed. -Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure. -Schedule and plan the installation and testing of new products and seek improvements to existing computer systems. -Maintain a high level competency in SQL Server and applications that have SQL databases also skilled in vb.net, .net programming, visual basic and SQL Query languages. -70% of duties will be directly related to Microsoft Dynamic SL dbase and 30% to the ERP system. -Maintain knowledge of Microsoft system administration tools and processes. -Ability to analyze system problems, determine root causes and establish resolution. -Maintain technical knowledge and teamwork skills. -Member of a team that ensures systems support at all times, on-call either rotational or as required. -Document system processes & keep up to date at all times., 1. Database Support Functions a. Monitor SQL for possible issues b. Maintain databases optimization c. Maintain database back ups d. Design, write, and administer computer database systems e. Develop methods of integrating different products to work properly together f. Coordinate changes (change management) for applications and process improvements & document changes. g. Assist in application installs that require databases h. Create & maintain DTS packages & scheduling i. Third Level Reports Support j. Create process & work flow documentation k. Plan & maintain security for databases l. Administer KIOTI process improvement consulting and implementation m. Data integrity implementation n. All other duties/responsibilities as required by manager.
Requirements
BS degree in computer science preferred. Associates degree in computer science (related to database administration field) required. 5-7 years of related database administration experience. -Knowledge and experience of the following computer applications: Solomon, ERP System, CRM, SQL, visual basic, .net programming, vb.net as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications are plus. -Ability to write database process and work flow and maintain effectively and efficiently as standard operating procedure. -Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees in an effective, efficient manner. -Ability to write/administer process in an effective and accurate manner. -Must possess excellent time management & multi-tasking skills.
