IT Project Management - ManagerFull Time | PermanentSalary Range: $107,364 - $144,372 AnnuallyThis is a telework/hybrid position. The candidate of choice may work from anywhere within the state of Washington with a reliable internet connection. Travel may be required.Bring your leadership and project management expertise to the Washington State Department of Corrections and help guide the successful delivery of critical technology initiatives. As the IT Project Management Manager, your goal will be to lead complex, multi-year IT projects while mentoring a team of project managers and strengthening project management practices across the agency!The IT Project Management Manager requires knowledge of Washington State project management policies and processes and ensures projects are managed in alignment with established standards and expectations. In this management role, you will provide leadership to the IT Project Management Office by applying project management principles and practices aligned with the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and ensuring consistent project oversight.The position oversees the use of DOC project management methodology to ensure appropriate project documentation is developed and maintained which could include project plans, schedules, scope management plans, communication plans, and resource strategies. The candidate of choice will ensure project schedules are created, maintained, and adjusted as needed while managing project scope, schedule, and work effort. We are searching for a candidate who can ensure risks and issues are identified and addressed, decisions are documented and made at the appropriate level, and change control processes are followed. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES We are looking for teammates who share our vision of public service, committed to an equitable and inclusive culture that fosters and inspires excellence, while promoting innovation, engagement, and safety, leading to better outcomes for our incarcerated population, our agency, and our community.As the IT Project Management Manager, some of your duties will include: Managing, directing and supervising the work completed by their team of IT professionals which could look like: Ensuring assigned work and/or projects are completed on time following established procedures to ensure business priorities are metCollecting and analyzing workload data to improve operational efficiency and capacityAddressing performance issues in a timely manner, ensuring all required documentation is completedProviding timely and meaningful assessments of staff work performanceProviding oversight of activities within the project management officeLeading cohesive workgroups, creating a cooperative and productive environment with open communicationEstablishing clear, realistic, measurable goals and objectives to ensure others understand the direction, deadlines and expected outcomes or productsManaging, directing and supervising the work completed by IT project managers responsible for managing projects with a detailed schedule, issue and risk management, stake-holder management and effective communication to include: Managing workloads, supervising staff and providing leadership, direction and mentorship to IT project management in the project management disciplineStrategically assigning workload to staff based on business priorities set through the IT governance process and ensures resources are appropriately utilizedSupporting the professional development of the project managers assigned to the IT PMO by providing coaching, mentoring and training within budgetIdentifying customer satisfaction with services and areas of improvementEvaluating overall project management program effectivenessManaging day-to-day activities in the IT PMO to ensure IT projects meet organization goals and requirementsEnsuring appropriate quality assurance and risk management processes and policies for project management are in place and operating effectivelyOther duties as needed
