Job description
Assist engineers in the research, design, development, testing, manufacturing, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment specific to configuration end items with defined structural definition
- Provide research and engineering investigation services/prototype builds for integration of replacement COTS components that sustain life cycle performance and add technological capability to the current product
- Build up the assemblies of the system components using all meaning of interconnect technologies to insert into the next higher assembly
- Support the maintenance and update of the technical drawings, schematics, and documentation required for production, testing, and operational use and maintenance
- Conduct qualitative testing of all system equipment and components using a variety of specialized measuring and test devices.
- Ensure the proper installation and functioning of components and systems as each assembly is built and connected to the next higher sys-assembly
- Work within a team setting to meet build schedules in support of deploying systems
- Perform depot level maintenance and repair of equipment and field service support as needed
- Collect and analyze data to confirm that the equipment meets design specifications and safety standards
Requirements
- Cleared at the DoD Secret level
- 3 - 7 years' experience in a position(s) conducting the electrical technician skills defined above
- 2 years of recent engineering support experience
- Direct experience in soldering and building common connection types for interconnects of electronic components
- Direct experience with electronic systems test equipment
Desired Additional Experience/Qualifications
- Former Aviation Technical or Ships Electronics technician
- Radio Frequency/Electronic Warfare system sustainment/maintenance
- Proficient in system simulation and modeling tools, including MATLAB and RF signal analysis tools
- Ability to lead classified and sensitive military programs
- Demonstrated leadership in risk assessment, problem resolution, and optimizing mission-critical systems
EDUCATION
Degree: AA or Technical certificate in electronics, Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical discipline.
ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for an AA degree.
SECURITY CLEARANCE - DoD SECRET
Condition of Employment: Applicant must hold an active DoD SECRET clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Benefits & conditions
The typical annual salary range for this position is $88,000.00 USD to $105,000.00 USD. Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements which could fall outside of this range.
