Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to support a brand-new, high-priority infrastructure analytics initiative. This team is responsible for aggregating data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive view of requested and deployed infrastructure, proactively identifying discrepancies, and enabling continuous improvement of infrastructure deployment best practices. The team's application will be used by subject matter experts to investigate, define, and refine deployment standards and governance rules. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting schemas across multiple database technologies to answer complex infrastructure-related questions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is comfortable engaging with stakeholders across the organization. Responsibilities Design schemas and data models across OLAP (ClickHouse), graph (Neo4j), and document (Elastic) databases

Optimize queries and data structures for performance and scalability

Collaborate with analytics engineers to ensure data structures effectively support operational needs

Implement governance rules to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance

Aggregate and reconcile infrastructure data from multiple sources

Do you have experience in Stakeholder management?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Proven experience with OLAP, graph, and document database technologies

Strong background in schema design, query optimization, and analytics support

Ability to translate analytical questions into scalable database design solutions

Experience working with large-scale or distributed data systems

Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills

Nice to Haves Experience analyzing cybersecurity-related datasets (e.g., network traffic, OS events)

Knowledge of end-to-end signal collection and analysis systems

General software engineering experience (DevOps, web applications, ETL, etc.)

Familiarity with Git and GitLab

Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence

Education & Experience Requirement 12 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree OR 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

$200,000 - $250,000 a year 401(k), Health insurance, Paid time off, Vision insurance, Dental insurance Columbia, MD 21046, Salary is determined by multiple factors, including location, education, experience, skills, and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $200,000 - $250,000 (annualized USD).
