Applications Engineer - Grand Rapids Area job in Grand Rapids

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand application requirements for new and existing products.
• Design, develop, and test software applications for manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and debug application issues, providing timely resolution and root cause analysis.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users on application functionality and best practices.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for applications, including specifications, user manuals, and test plans.
• Implement and optimize control systems and automation solutions within manufacturing environments.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation, and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with PLM/PDM systems
• Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
• Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis or automation
• Demonstrated ability to create technical documentation and training materials
