IT Systems Administrator - East Lansing Area job in East Lansing

• Configure and maintain server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Manage network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Administer and support manufacturing-specific applications (MES, SCADA, ERP).
• Implement and monitor data backup, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity measures.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for plant floor systems and end-users.
• Document IT systems, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and performance tuning.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT systems administration, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and storage area networks (SAN/NAS).
• Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) networks.
• Proven ability to implement and maintain network security best practices and disaster recovery solutions.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA or MES systems.
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Modbus, EtherNet/IP).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for OT environments.
