Job description

Senior IT Project Manager | Contract | Onsite LOCAL ATLANTA CANDIDATES ONLY. Our client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver complex, enterprise-level technology initiatives within a structured PMO environment. This role requires a strong blend of technical project delivery, stakeholder leadership, and vendor management across multiple workstreams.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is comfortable driving alignment across cross-functional teams while maintaining strict timelines and high-quality deliverables., * Lead end-to-end delivery of complex IT projects and programs

  • Develop and maintain core project artifacts including:
  • Project plans and schedules
  • Status reports and executive briefings
  • Risk and issue logs
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to align priorities and ensure successful outcomes
  • Manage third-party vendors, ensuring accountability, performance, and timely delivery
  • Drive issue resolution, risk mitigation, and decision-making across teams
  • Coordinate across internal IT teams and external partners for seamless execution
  • Deliver projects using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies, adapting as needed
  • Provide clear, concise communication to executive leadership and project stakeholders

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of PMBOK and Agile frameworks, with the ability to apply both effectively
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical projects, including web-based applications and enterprise systems
  • Experience working within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Demonstrated success managing vendors and third-party partners
  • Excellent communication skills with strong executive presence
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with MS Project, JIRA, and/or similar project management tools
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field
  • 8+ years of progressive IT project management experience
  • Experience leading highly technical teams and delivering complex systems
  • Prior experience working within a PMO environment preferred

Certifications

  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent certification preferred
