Job description
We are seeking a Network Engineer who is motivated by variety, seeks a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting large information technology projects. As a Network Engineer, you will be involved in the full system life cycle of our local area network infrastructure, from development to operations. This includes designing, configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting LAN solutions., * Provide daily support with resolution of escalated tickets and apply operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance.
- Architect, design, configure, test, implement, review, and support on-premise and cloud networking solutions.
- Keep the existing network facilities portfolio supported and reliable through life cycle plans and investment roadmaps.
- Stay abreast of the latest technology advancements and future trends in this domain.
- Identify technical requirements and provide cost-effective solutions to meet desired business outcomes.
- Identify and automate tasks that can be automated.
- Validate new requests with existing architecture to verify compatibility and ensure business needs are met.
- Develop and communicate reusable architecture policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Ensure that design and application implementation meet security and quality assurance standards.
- Maintain existing Service Level Agreements.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree is required. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 6+ years of experience as a technical engineer or architect designing, developing, implementing, and supporting network projects. This includes 2-3 years in network operations support and troubleshooting, 2 years as a consultant analyzing end-user needs, and 1 year applying architectural principles and managing product life cycles.
- A heavy focus on at least three of the following is required: Cisco Switches, Cisco Routers, Cisco Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), or Cisco Network Access Control (NAC).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in scripting and infrastructure as code using tools such as Ansible.
- Advanced professional training and certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or PMP.
- Knowledge of technologies such as Cloud Services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Directory Services (LDAP, DNS, AD), ServiceNow, and SolarWinds.
- Knowledge of the Utility business.
Benefits & conditions
The pay range for this position is between $45.00/hr and $51.50/hr.
