Network Technician

GTS is seeking a Network Technician to support enterprise IT infrastructure, systems, and services. This role ensures network environments are stable, secure, and performing at or above expected standards. The Network Technician will work closely with internal teams and vendors to support ongoing infrastructure needs and technology initiatives., * Complete assigned work orders from Network Lead/Supervisor

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software
• Install and maintain structured cabling infrastructure (copper and fiber)
• Work closely with vendors to support network operations and upgrades
• Document troubleshooting processes, system configurations, and repairs
• Support testing standards and operational procedures as required
• Participate as a member of the Network Engineering Support Team
• Provide after-hours support for critical network infrastructure as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, * 3+ years of experience with TIA cabling standards (Cat 6/6a, Fiber)
• 3+ years of CCNA, Microsoft Server, or related networking experience
• 3+ years of VoIP hardware and software configuration experience (preferred)

Certifications & Technical Skills:

• CompTIA Network+ (N+) Certification required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure and troubleshooting, * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users
• Fast response and effective escalation handling in a high-paced environment
• Strong documentation and spreadsheet skills
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and procedures
• Strong collaboration and independent work capability

Physical Requirements

• Ability to bend, stoop, climb, and work in tight or overhead spaces
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
• Ability to occasionally lift more than 50 lbs. with assistance
• Occasional travel to district and non-district sites
