Job description
We're looking for a Senior Systems Integration Engineer / Technical Advisor to help lead large scale network and telecom initiatives supporting the FAA's National Airspace System. The role focuses on end to end delivery, cross functional technical leadership, and overseeing complex network infrastructure (BGP/MPLS, data centers, optical networking, cloud connectivity).
This is a highly visible role partnering with engineering teams, vendors, and leadership on mission critical systems that directly support U.S. aviation safety. It's based in Herndon, VA and requires eligibility for a Public Trust clearance.
Requirements
- Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Education & Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems is required.
- Technical Experience: 12+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure planning.
- Program Leadership: 5+ years leading complex, cross-functional projects, including large-scale or multi-million-dollar initiatives.
- Networking Expertise: Strong command of core networking protocols, including BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6.
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Experience with optical networking, data center environments, and server-level hardware deployments.
- Cloud & Virtualization: Working knowledge of cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Capacity & Financial Planning: Proven ability to model network growth, optimize capacity, and align technical decisions with budget constraints.
