Job description
This is senior-level professional staff work providing specialized administrative and program coordination support to the Office of Information Technology (OIT) Associate Directors and project and program teams. The incumbent ensures smooth day-to-day operations, accurate documentation, and effective internal and external communication in support of large-scale technology initiatives. Work involves coordinating administrative activities, maintaining project documentation and records, supporting meeting and logistics planning, and monitoring timelines and deliverables to help ensure projects progress efficiently and meet established deadlines. The coordinator exercises independent judgment while working collaboratively across OIT divisions to support enterprise initiatives and maintain consistent, organized, and timely program operations. Work is performed under the general supervision of the IT Governance Associate Director and is evaluated based on quality of support, accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of coordination efforts.
About the Agency
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides support for all of the agencies, departments, and branches of County government. The?OIT Service Desk?provides information technology support and maintenance services to Prince George's County personnel. The Office of Information Technology is wholly dedicated to aligning technology efforts to support the strategic goals of the County. OIT will provide leadership, expertise, and resources in the ideation, development, and deployment of innovative technologies and streamlined processes to improve government efficiency, business interaction, and citizen access to government information and services.
Examples of Work

Provides high-level administrative support to Associate Directors and program/project teams, including calendar coordination, meeting logistics, correspondence preparation, and document management.

Coordinates cross-division administrative tasks to ensure consistent workflows and effective communication.

Promotes consistency in executive administrative processes across Associate Director portfolios, including standardized documentation, workflows, and communication practices.

Coordinates executive and agency sponsored meetings, cross-functional working groups, workshops and other agency events.

Coordinates completion of presentations, reports, meeting summaries, and correspondence to support project and program initiatives.

Coordinates communications between leadership, staff, vendors, and stakeholders.

Supports IT governance, compliance, and oversight functions by maintaining tracking systems for executive initiatives, audits, legislation, policy actions, and special projects. Monitors timelines, prepares status reports, and alerts leadership to risks, delays, or decision points.

Coordinates administrative processes across Associate Director portfolios, promoting consistency in documentation, workflows, and communication practices.

Performs assigned duties independently, demonstrates strong organizational and time-management skills, and maintains confidentiality., + Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, business or public administration or a closely related field.
- At least two (2) year of information technology experience.
Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Driver's License
- 5-7 years' experience supporting directors, managers, or senior leaders.
- Prior work in a similar industry (government, nonprofit, etc.).
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Basic data management or reporting experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Ability to interact professionally with staff, leaders, vendors, and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
- Experience coordinating projects or events.
- Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
- High level of discretion with confidential information.
- Proactive problem solving and ability to work with minimal supervision.

New employees must enroll in the County's health benefit plans within thirty (30) days of the hire date.
The effective date of the health benefits coverage is the beginning of the month following a waiting period of forty-five (45) days from the date of hire.
After enrolling in the County's benefit plans, employees may only make changes to the plans either during the open enrollment period, which occurs annually (usually each October), and/or during the year, due to a family status change (i.e., marriage, births, divorce and adoption).
