Job description
The Data Engineer is responsible for contributing technical expertise to a team of developers and participating in analysis of actual and predictable interacting operational activities of business to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making through the application of logic and scientific or economic disciplines and techniques. Ability to demonstrate a workable understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts within the Data Science/Operations Research field and provide consultation to technical solutions over a wide range of complex difficult problems in which proposed solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust, Secret, or higher level of federal/government security clearance. US Citizenship is required for security clearance
- Completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree (between fall 2025 and summer 2026) from an accredited college or university
- Experience with common data science tools, such as R, Python, MATLAB; with a heavy emphasis on Python.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
- Degrees in a science, technology, math, engineering field preferred; humanities degree with equivalent technical experience
- Active US Security Clearance: SECRET
- Demonstratable experience in at least one statistical programming language (i.e., C#, Python, R); knowledge and understanding of Python is a plus.
- Demonstrates expert experience in leading development efforts with clear examples of value added to the client.
- Demonstrates experience interacting with end-users to understand and document business and functional requirements for complex projects, as well as collaborating with technical teams across the full software development life cycle.
- Demonstrates considerable proven knowledge of organizational planning and project management specific to lifecycle development processes.
- Experience with common data science tools, such as R, Python, MATLAB; with a heavy emphasis on Python.
