Job description

We are looking for a Data Scientist to join a project for a company in the energy industry! This role will be required to analyze complex data sets to extract meaningful insights and drive business decisions as well as bridge gaps between technical expertise and business strategy by collecting, cleaning, and interpreting data. Developing predictive models and communicating results and findings to stakeholders.

The role will also be required to collect, review, analyze, update and maintain a series of databases to generate reports. Ensure data integrity of internal databases. Be able to analyze data for inconsistencies, error, and repair data sets. Draft weekly and quarterly reports associated with evolving datasets.

  • Data Collection from various sources, cleaning and transforming the data into useable formats while ensuring data quality.

  • Evaluate and develop data models that validate predictive models, assess performance

  • Iterate data models to improve efficiency and accuracy.

  • Model and analyze data by applying statistical models, learning algorithms, etc. to present patterns, trends, and insights.

  • Develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports that present findings through visualizations and presentations to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate and work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.

  • Ensure successful implementation of any data-driven solutions.

  • Perform basic calculations if necessary.

  • Provide support to team with data analysis when necessary.

Requirements

Bachelors degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business or related field.

  • 4+ years applying advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and database management skills.

  • Proficient in Office 365 (Microsoft Office Suite) with strong experience generating pivot tables and pivot charts.

  • Proficiency in pogramming languages such as Python, R, SQL, etc.

  • Strong experience identifying trends and insights from data sets to help leadership make informed decisions.

  • Proficient in data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau.

  • Experience with data analysis from project work. - Experience in the oil and gas or energy industry.
