Job description
We're looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who can help evolve and support our technology landscape across both legacy systems and modern cloud driven practices. This position combines classic infrastructure expertise with current approaches to automation, observability, and reliability engineering. You'll play a key role in strengthening our monitoring capabilities, enhancing reliability, and streamlining operations through automation. The role also works closely with our Infrastructure, Digital (development), and Application Services teams to ensure consistent, reliable operations across all platforms. This is a hands on engineering position for someone who is comfortable managing traditional IT environments while driving modernization efforts. The role reports to the Sr. Director of Infrastructure and is onsite three days per week at our Durham, NC headquarters.
Creating and managing synthetic monitoring for essential systems, integrations, and APIs. Developing dashboards, alerting mechanisms, and telemetry to increase visibility into system health. Automating daily operational workflows using PowerShell, Python, or equivalent scripting tools. Building and maintaining Infrastructure as Code deployments for cloud and infrastructure resources. Diagnosing and resolving issues across AWS, Azure, and SaaS environments. Improving uptime and service reliability through proactive monitoring and automation. Participating in incident response, root cause investigations, and long term reliability efforts. Enhancing cloud efficiency, performance, and resilience within AWS and Azure. Working with Digital and App Services teams to ensure shared operational and reliability standards. Supporting secure, scalable, maintainable cloud and on prem environments using best practice approaches. Documenting procedures, contributing to operational improvements, and supporting core infrastructure such as Windows Server, Entra ID/Azure AD, and networking services as needed.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship not available., A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, plus at least five years of experience in a similar role. Strong understanding of foundational infrastructure (servers, identity, networking) paired with modern cloud/SRE methods. Experience working within AWS and/or Azure environments. Hands on familiarity with observability or monitoring platforms. Proficiency with automation/scripting in PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar languages. Experience using Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues. Strong collaboration and communication abilities, working effectively across Infrastructure, Digital, and App Services groups. Clear written and verbal communication skills suited for cross functional environments.
