Job description
The client is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment across multiple U.S. facilities. This role blends advanced Tier 2 and Tier 3 responsibilities, including firewall administration, wireless design, routing/switching, and hands-on support for plant operations. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a proactive problem solver, and a dependable team player with an "I got it" mentality. This position requires hybrid on-site presence in Murfreesboro and Smyrna, TN, with periodic travel to additional plant locations. Skills Firewall, Router, Cisco routers, Troubleshooting, Switches, Wireless, Network engineering, Ccna, Paloalto Top Skills' Details 1.Firewall & Security -Perform firewall administration, rule creation, and monitoring -Maintain strong operational uptime ("keep the lights on") -Support governance activities as needed -Palo Alto experience is a plus 2.Wireless Networking -Configure and manage Meraki wireless across multiple plants -Support one Cisco WLC-based plant -Build wireless templates and profiles -Conduct wireless site surveys using newly acquired survey tools -Troubleshoot and optimize wireless performance 3.Routing & Switching -Support Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching -Configure and troubleshoot OSPF -Work with traditional Cisco environments transitioning to Meraki 4.Operational Support -Provide advanced Tier 2 support and assist Tier 1 teams when needed -Cover for technicians during PTO (3-4 weeks per year) -Work from a ticketing system and respond to issues via Teams chat -Participate in the escalation chain for critical outages Support weekend outage windows and occasional off-shift work
Requirements
Cisco Meraki experience a plus Customer service skills, team player, able to work in a fast pace environment CCNA is not required but nice.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Murfreesboro, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $48.00/hr.
