Job description
The Desktop Support Technician provides hands-on technical support to end users both remotely and in person. This role requires strong customer service skills, as technicians regularly interact with users across various departments. Responsibilities include installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of hardware and software in a Windows-based environment, as well as basic network connectivity support. The position offers long-term stability, opportunities for skill development, and potential career advancement., * Provide onsite and remote support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and related hardware.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and software in a Windows environment.
- Assist with user account updates, access issues, and general system support.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity and device communication issues.
- Support imaging, deployment, and setup of new devices.
- Resolve issues related to printers, peripherals, and common office applications.
- Document all work in the ticketing system and follow established workflows.
- Maintain strong communication and customer service when interacting with end users.
- Travel locally as needed to support users in nearby areas.
- Lift and carry equipment and work in physically demanding positions when required.
- Collaborate with team members and escalate complex issues when appropriate.
Requirements
- Strong history in desktop support, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience supporting Windows operating systems and common office applications.
- Ability to diagnose hardware issues and perform break-fix repairs.
- Basic understanding of network connectivity and troubleshooting.
- Experience with device imaging, deployment, and user setup.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver's license and ability to lift and carry equipment., * Experience supporting users in both remote and onsite environments.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and structured support processes.
- Experience with device inventory, migrations, or mobile device support.
- Strong relationship-building skills with end users and internal teams.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional technical training or certifications preferred.

This is a Contract position based out of Somerset, KY. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
