Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT Engineering and Cloud Platforms Manager in Tampa, FL. Summary: This role leads cloud engineering and operations teams responsible for enterprise-scale cloud platforms. The manager will drive strategy, execution, and continuous improvement across multi-cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and alignment with business objectives. This is a hands-on leadership role blending technical depth, operational excellence, and people management. Responsibilities:

  • Define and evolve cloud infrastructure strategies, standards, and best practices
  • Lead, hire, coach, and manage cloud engineering and support teams
  • Own reliability, performance, security, and recoverability of cloud platforms
  • Oversee architecture, deployment, automation, monitoring, and optimization
  • Deliver complex infrastructure initiatives on time and within scope
  • Partner with application, security, and business teams to deliver scalable solutions
  • Support a 24x7 production environment with on-call leadership availability
  • Drive capacity planning, forecasting, and budget inputs
  • Evaluate and implement cloud-native, open-source, and commercial tools
  • Establish standards for infrastructure-as-code, observability, DR, and automation
  • Act as senior technical decision-maker and escalation point
  • Proactively identify risks, improvement opportunities, and innovation paths

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years leading enterprise IT or cloud infrastructure initiatives
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • Experience operating mission-critical, highly available environments

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid role with a minimum of two in-office days per week
  • Occasional travel (5-10%)
  • Availability required during critical incidents
  • Business-casual environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
