Job description

As an experience UX Designer (Consultant) at Kainos, you will deliver intuitive service experiences based on user needs and design principles. You will be passionate about needs-based design and an advocate for design thinking and service design. You'll manage, coach and develop a small number of staff, with a focus on managing employee performance and assisting in their career development.

You will be part of and supported by our growing Experience Design capability creating exemplary digital services. We are supportive, collaborative, talented, and hugely passionate about user-centred design. Requirements

  • Able to define design strategy and communicate benefits to senior stakeholders
  • Can identify and design methods of ideation appropriate to the business context and project requirements
  • Uses journey maps to inform business and customer recommendations.
  • Co-ordinates the production of prototypes to meet the needs of user testing and development
  • Able to conduct usability testing; can incorporate research into design strategy
  • Collaborates to create new IA based on analysis and research
  • Advocates and promotes accessibility and AD standards across projects
  • Guides other teams and stakeholders in best practice for UCD across a project lifecycle
  • Mentors junior team members and represents UX design across Kainos
  • We are passionate about developing people - a demonstrated ability in managing, coaching and developing members of your team and wider community

DESIRABLE

  • Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience in assisting with or conducting research and analysing findings to identify content needs
  • Experience working in a full-service digital agency environment
  • Active member of relevant communities, e.g. online groups, speaking at conferences
