Job description
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in CICS, COBOL, JCL, DB2, and a solid understanding of banking and financial services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical applications that support core banking operations., Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions within the banking domain. Perform system analysis, debugging, and performance tuning of mainframe applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and operations to ensure seamless delivery. Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions. Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities. Ensure compliance with banking industry standards, security, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
5+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development. Strong expertise in CICS (Customer Information Control System). Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM. Experience in banking/financial services domain (e.g., core banking, payments, loans, deposits). Knowledge of batch processing, transaction management, and performance optimization. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. Experience with MQ Series, IMS, or other mainframe tools. Familiarity with modernization initiatives (mainframe to cloud migration, API enablement). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
