Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Security Analyst in Tallahassee, FL. Overview: The Security Analyst - Advanced provides Tier 3 cybersecurity support for an enterprise information security environment. This role supports daily cybersecurity operations, incident response, and the monitoring, maintenance, and improvement of security controls and technologies. The position works closely with infrastructure, application, and external partner teams to protect information assets and ensure high-quality security service delivery. Work may be performed remotely or on-site at a government headquarters location in Tallahassee, Florida. The role reports directly to the Information Security Officer or designated Contract Manager. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily operational support for enterprise information security infrastructure
  • Serve as Tier 3 escalation support for cybersecurity incidents and advanced troubleshooting
  • Assist with implementation, tuning, and planning of Managed Security Services (MSS), SIEM, and vulnerability management solutions
  • Support enterprise vulnerability management, including identification, classification, remediation planning, and coordination with technology teams
  • Monitor and support DDoS protection services
  • Maintain and support endpoint protection technologies including MDR/XDR and Next-Generation Antivirus
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to alerts from IDS/IPS, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Network Access Control (NAC), and Email Security systems
  • Support administration of identity and access management solutions, including multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Act as a technical member of the Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT)
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, procedures, and Systems Security Plans (SSPs)
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend security solutions and process improvements
  • Participate in assigned meetings, projects, and required training

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Information security certifications are preferred, including CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CompTIA CASP+ (or similar)
  • Minimum 5 years of combined IT and cybersecurity experience, including system analysis and hands-on operation of cybersecurity infrastructure
  • At least 3 years of direct information security or cybersecurity experience
  • Experience with vulnerability management, networking, firewall operations, and cloud-based security tools
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Experience acting as a cybersecurity lead on complex security projects spanning multiple IT domains

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with vulnerability management platforms
  • Hands-on experience supporting antivirus, EDR, MDR, and XDR solutions
  • Experience monitoring IDS/IPS technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of SIEM platforms and alert tuning
  • Experience with cloud-based email security solutions
  • Practical incident response experience
  • Experience with identity management and advanced authentication (MFA)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
