This position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and is a member of the IT Management Team, which includes the Applications Manager, Helpdesk Manager, ISSM, and IT Project Manager positions. This position is responsible in managing the day to day activities associated with the administration and engineering of the network and its systems as well as the ability to integrate and manage independent and interdependent projects while balancing priorities in meeting daily operations. The IT Operations Manager must be able to assist in troubleshooting complex problems and work under stressful conditions with rigorous time constraints. This position requires constant attention to policies, procedures, and integration of cybersecurity into every facet of technology., * Managing network and system administration and engineering staff to include training, mentoring, and providing direction
- Providing tactical direction towards the execution of networking tasks which supports the mission of N3B
- Integrating networking in support of system engineering while maintaining the moderate unclassified security posture
- Providing tactical direction towards the execution of systems tasks which supports the mission of N3B
- Collaborating with the ISSM and cybersecurity to advance cybersecurity implementations which are dependent on networking and systems
- Ensuring that elevated helpdesk tickets are closed out within the appropriate timeframes
- Adhering to NIST compliance and N3B cybersecurity documentation, both technically and administratively
- Collaborating with the IT Management team in the strategic planning of technologies in support of the N3B mission
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the virtualized server environment, virtualized host environment, and servers (standalone, networked, and physical)
- Managing day-to-day administration of Active Directory and messaging environments
- Ensuring high availability and acceptable levels of performance of systems and network.
- Enforcing and complying with change management processes
While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, the IT Operations Manager will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner; will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security., While working to achieve N3B LLCC objectives, the Sr. Manager, IT Ops 4 will ensure all activities and operations are performed in a safe and deliberate manner to include protecting the confidentiality and integrity of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). This role will maintain required safety, security and operational training; assure procedural and regulatory compliance; and make safety, security and quality an integral part of every task; including taking the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe or compromises security. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Q clearance from the United States Department of Energy
Requirements

Skilled working within a Microsoft Active Directory-based enterprise environment regulated by security baselines (DoD DISA STIGs) and protections.

Demonstrated proficiency with Windows Server 2012 R2/2016 and Active Directory

Experience in cloud environments

Experience in networking as related to virtualized host and server environments

Experience managing projects while balancing priorities in daily operations

Knowledge of leading technical teams as well as working as part of a technical team

Experience training and mentoring others

Current VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Bachelors' degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline combined with 10 years of System or Network Engineering experience. Experience should include a minimum of 5 years' of management responsibility. However, a combination of education and relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the position's duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated.
