Job description
Operate the Network Operations Center to monitor and manage VDOT's intelligent transportation systems (ITS) infrastructure, field devices and associated systems, and provide 24x7 situational awareness. The NOC supports operational efficiency and mitigates risk by having one direct source of collaboration responsible for all NOC/ITS and ATMS monitoring, dispatch, and operations. Day to day: -Actively monitor the health of ITS devices deployed across the company/customer network -Actively monitor the operational status of ITS systems, networks, sub networks, and ITS end devices such as CCTVs, Dynamic Message Signs, gate control systems, Highway advisory Radio, speed detection devices, road weather information systems, etc. -Conduct diagnostic investigations of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment failures using computer-assisted techniques -Identify the causes and contributing factors to a range of ITS operational problems -Dispatch ITS field technicians, where applicable
Pay range is 20-22/hour
Requirements
1.) 1-2 years of IT 2.) Effective interpersonal and intrapersonal communications skills 3.) Experience working in a 24x7 support function 4.) Ability to think quickly and clearly during an incident 5.) Able to work outside of standard hours, including weekends-rotating weekend shifts
