Job description

The Cloud Network Engineer has the overall administrative responsibility for the corporate facility operations including network communication, network security, backup methodology, business continuity, etc. Helps to engineer technical solutions to meet corporate systems infrastructure needs and audit/compliance requirements, maintain vendor relationships, and perform equipment installation, testing, and ongoing maintenance. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on network administration support, network maintenance, and operations support
  • Diagnose and correct network systems issues
  • Work within and adhere to symplr network design and security, testing, and documentation standards, including Change Control documentation
  • Work closely with Senior management, System Engineers, Database teams, and IT Project Management to collect and analyze systems infrastructure project requirements; develop detailed project specifications
  • Assist System Engineers to complete network and security infrastructure project initiatives
  • Provide systems and services to support corporate software solutions
  • Implement, upgrade, monitor, and maintain key systems including but not limited to the following equipment and protocols: web security appliance, wireless controllers, switches, routers, hubs, servers, cables, racks, firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, latency, VoIP, QoS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, NHRP, ATM, MPLS, VPLS, etc.
  • Design and administer all corporate network security and business continuity processes
  • Consult with external resources to obtain engineering proposals, pricing, etc.
  • Provide software and hardware evaluation and recommendations for management review
  • Write and maintain documentation related to corporate facility operations, policies, and procedures
  • Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with systems and services
  • Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up for complex problems escalated from Help Desk
  • Analyze, install, and test upgrades of externally developed application programs including firmware updates, security releases, etc.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant networking experience, and 2+ years hands-on AWS experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • CCNA certification
  • AWS certifications
  • Experience with Fortinet and Cisco systems, as well as WAN optimization technologies
  • Experience supporting audit and compliance requirements
  • CCNP and/or CNE certifications
