Job description
- Provide support for all computer applications in the district
- Respond to phone calls, emails and personnel requests for technical support; identify, research and resolve technical problems; ensure timely resolution and follow-up
- Install and perform repairs to hardware, software, peripheral equipment and other IT equipment; basic hardware maintenance
- Create new images for PC's
- Act as a resource and resolve problems for all hardware and software
- Train users in proper use of hardware and software as necessary
- Assist with installing and maintaining networked hardware and software
- Assist with maintenance of databases on legacy systems
- Maintain accurate, detailed and timely support and service records
Requirements
- Associate/BS degree in computer science with two years' experience; High school diploma and three years' experience supporting Windows/Intel based PC's in a networked environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- In depth knowledge of MS Windows, OS, MS Office, and Open Office including the ability to troubleshoot and provide support.
- Thorough working knowledge of LAN technology
- Must be able to lift and manage up to 50 lbs.
- Valid SC driver's license
Demonstrated abilities
- Demonstrated technical aptitude necessary to learn state and district software applications.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively to install software, automate applications, and set up hardware in networked environments.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
