Job description
Our West Coast Healthcare client is seeking an experienced Workday System Administrator to lead strategy, backlog management, and administration of the Workday platform, including Accounting Center, Finance (Adaptive Planning), and HCM. This role partners closely with Finance and HR leaders to deliver high-impact solutions, ensure platform integrity, and drive measurable business outcomes.
- This Contract-to-Hire role has an initial duration of 6 months, before converting. Client working hours are MST., * Own and manage the Workday product roadmap, backlog, and delivery priorities
- Translate business needs into actionable user stories, configurations, and deliverables
- Perform hands-on Workday administration (business processes, security, reporting, integrations)
- Lead release management, testing coordination, and deployment activities
- Monitor KPIs across finance, payroll, planning, and reporting performance
- Ensure compliance with audit, security, and internal control requirements
- Act as primary liaison between stakeholders and technical teams
- Manage external Workday vendors and ensure quality delivery when needed

Requirements
- 5+ years of Product Owner or enterprise platform experience
- Hands-on experience with Workday (Finance and/or HCM preferred)
- Strong backlog management, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working with Finance and HR teams in enterprise environments, * Experience with Accounting Center, Adaptive Planning, and HCM modules
- Agile/Scrum certification
- Healthcare industry experience
- Experience managing Workday vendors or managed services
