Job description

As a Telecommunications Field Specialist, you will be the driving force behind high-speed connectivity by deploying, maintaining, and optimizing critical fiber optic infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in fiber splicing and network cabling to ensure seamless service delivery for a diverse range of residential and commercial clients. Responsibilities

  • Execute precise fiber optic splicing and cable installation to guarantee maximum signal integrity and network performance.
  • Operate specialized machinery, including bucket trucks, to safely access aerial infrastructure and perform necessary repairs.
  • Interpret complex network diagrams and schematics to implement accurate cabling layouts for LAN and WAN environments.
  • Perform comprehensive low-voltage wiring and telecommunications infrastructure upgrades to support evolving network demands.
  • Utilize professional climbing gear to scale structures, ensuring all aerial installations meet rigorous safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all field activities and provide status updates to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in field service operations within the telecommunications or fiber optic sector.
  • Proficiency in operating heavy equipment and bucket trucks in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Hands-on technical skill in fiber splicing, low-voltage wiring, and general electrical systems.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks at heights and utilize standard climbing equipment.
  • Strong analytical ability to interpret technical schematics and troubleshoot network connectivity issues., * Prior background in large-scale IT infrastructure or network construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of Ethernet standards and telephony system architecture.
  • Proven track record of using power tools and specialized hand tools in a construction environment.
