Job description
As a Data Center Infrastructure Technician, you will be instrumental in the physical deployment and configuration of mission-critical hardware within high-density data environments. You will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operational readiness of server halls by executing precise hardware installations, structured cabling, and infrastructure staging. Responsibilities
- Execute the physical installation of server racks, cabinets, PDUs, and network hardware according to engineering specifications.
- Interpret complex rack elevation drawings and installation schematics to ensure accurate equipment placement.
- Manage end-to-end cable routing, dressing, and labeling to maintain high-performance connectivity standards.
- Support the staging and inventory management of IT assets to streamline deployment workflows.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization within the data hall to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and network engineering, to meet project milestones.
- Perform rigorous quality control checks to verify that all installations comply with client-specific technical requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data center, telecom, or IT hardware installation environments.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical installation guides and blueprints.
- Proficiency in handling server racks, PDUs, and structured cabling systems.
- Physical capability to lift equipment and navigate active construction or facility sites.
- Ability to successfully complete site-specific onboarding, including background and safety screenings., * Prior experience with large-scale data hall deployments or hardware staging projects.
- Familiarity with industry-standard labeling and patching protocols.
- Knowledge of IT asset management and inventory tracking processes.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA or specialized data center training.
