Job description
This is a hybrid technical-and-creative position for someone who’s equally at home writing PHP inside a custom WordPress plugin and designing a print mailer or in-store sign. You’ll work directly alongside our Marketing Director - who brings significant WordPress, web development, and creative design experience of their own - as the other half of a small, high-output team. The goal is a complementary pairing: two people who know the work, dividing and reinforcing each other across web and creative rather than duplicating effort.
To be clear, this is a hands-on individual-contributor role, not a management position. But in a team this lean, the quality of your work is highly visible - strong results don’t get lost in the shuffle, and they don’t go unnoticed.
If you like wearing both the developer hat and the designer hat - and don’t want to be boxed into just one - this is built for you.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain, update, and troubleshoot our company website(s) in WordPress, including custom plugin development and modification
- Design marketing materials for in-store, digital, and print use
- Plan, build, and manage Google Ads and Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram) campaigns
- Coordinate and execute advertising campaigns across digital and traditional channels
- Support day-to-day storefront marketing needs - signage, promotions, and branded assets
- Partner with the Marketing Director as a day-to-day owner of web updates and graphic production
Requirements
- Comfortable working in a PC / Windows environment
- Hands-on WordPress experience: theme customization, content management, and admin
- Ability to write PHP and to build, modify, and maintain custom WordPress plugins
- Demonstrated graphic design experience across print and digital
- Active, hands-on experience managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Social media management experience: content creation, scheduling, and platform management
Nice to Have (Preferred)
- Prior experience in a retail or storefront environment
- WooCommerce or other e-commerce platform experience
- Marketing coordination background (campaign planning, vendor communication, asset management)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent design tools
- SEO / SEM knowledge
