Job description

As an IT Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in the technical direction, delivery, and support for a variety of IT projects and services. You will oversee and manage asset procurement, delivery of new and enhanced technology services, and encourage continual service improvement through automation and process development. Acting as a single point of contact for small projects, you will collaborate closely with management, vendors, and project teams to ensure smooth coordination and successful deployment of IT solutions., * Providing technical direction and overseeing assets for assigned projects within the organization.

  • Ensuring the successful delivery and enhancement of IT services while adopting automation and process improvements.
  • Collaborating with management to review, budget, procure, and install assets, and serving as a single point of contact for smaller projects.
  • Communicating with organizational leaders to identify effective solutions and limit costs.
  • Undertaking technology research to ensure project requirements are met, including providing budget guidance to IT leadership.
  • Entering purchase orders and liaising with suppliers and customers to coordinate and confirm asset deliveries for projects.
  • Maintaining and updating documentation, delivering training, and offering ongoing support to the division.
  • Assisting IT Asset Analysts in handling ServiceNow requests for hardware and software assets.
  • Guiding the Service Desk on Cerner Queue builds, responding to incidents, and handling project-related issues.
  • Leading IT division projects and providing regular status updates, including managing endpoint requests such as adds, moves, and changes.
  • Coordinating and completing structured cabling requests as needed for organizational projects.
  • Working with the PMO team and Facilities to consult and advise on technology assets, utilizing ServiceNow to plan, coordinate, document, and complete endpoint and infrastructure requests.
  • Collaborating with both internal teams and external vendors to bring new services into production and manage the upgrade or decommissioning of assets.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of direct, hands-on experience in IT project support or IT operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both software and hardware terminology.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with purchasing/ordering systems, billing, and invoicing processes.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Service Deployment Platform (preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Excel.
  • Effective communicator, able to clearly convey technical and project information both orally and in writing to all levels of staff and partners.
  • Able to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks using effective methodologies and tools to meet project deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a collaborative and team-focused approach.
  • Commitment to continual service improvement, proactively introducing new ideas and contributing to process development that enhances performance and productivity.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and with outside vendors to deliver IT services into production.
  • Adept at supporting and training end users, as well as producing and updating documentation as needed., * High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Net+, and CompTIA Project+ certifications (all required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field (preferred, but not required).
