Job description

This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the beginning of their IT or communications career. You will receive mentoring from experienced engineers while gaining hands-on experience across Microsoft 365, networking, unified communications, Teams Rooms, AV installations and customer support.

Responsibilities:

Provide first and second-line technical support to the business and external customers.

Assist with the installation, configuration and maintenance of IT and communications solutions.

Support Microsoft 365, Windows devices, Teams/Zoom Phone, Teams/Zoom Rooms and other related technologies.

Assist with onsite installations including displays, meeting room equipment, networking hardware and structured cabling.

Prepare, configure and test equipment before deployment.

Respond to support requests in line with internal and customer SLAs.

Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers where appropriate.

Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation.

Assist with customer projects alongside senior engineers.

Learn new technologies through vendor training and practical experience.

Deliver a professional, friendly and customer-focused service at all times.

Follow company quality, health & safety and information security procedures.

Be willing to travel to customer sites throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays where required.

Requirements

Essential:

A genuine interest in IT and technology.

Good understanding of Windows and Microsoft 365.

Basic knowledge of computer networking.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn.

Ability to work well within a team.

Full UK Driving Licence (or working towards obtaining one).

Desirable:

Previous experience in an IT support, service desk or engineering role.

Experience with Microsoft Teams, Teams Rooms or business telephony.

Basic understanding of networking, switches and firewalls.

Experience with structured cabling or hardware installations.

Microsoft or vendor certifications.

An IT-related qualification or completed apprenticeship.
