Job description
This is a fully on-site position based out of our Corona, CA office, 5 days per week. This is not a hybrid or remote role. Regular on-site client visits are required. On-call weekend rotation is required.
The Role
You will own a set of client accounts as a primary engineer, handle escalated technical issues, perform recurring maintenance tasks across our managed client base, and work directly on infrastructure projects. This is not a helpdesk-only role. You need to be just as comfortable migrating a domain controller as you are closing a support ticket.
MSP experience is required. Candidates without it will not be considered.
What You Will Do
Support
- Handle escalated tickets and complex technical issues from L1 teammates
- Act as primary engineer for assigned client accounts, own their environments, documentation, and satisfaction
- Jump on client calls and on-site visits when issues need hands-on resolution
- Monitor and respond to Huntress EDR, ITDR, and security alerts
- Log all work in Autotask PSA accurately and on time, every ticket, every time
Infrastructure and Project Work
- Plan and execute Windows Server migrations, new DC deployment, FSMO role transfers, DNS and SYSVOL validation, legacy DC decommission
- Deploy and configure SonicWall and Meraki firewalls, managed switches, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure
- Execute Azure cloud migrations, M365 tenant configuration, Entra ID, hybrid identity with Azure AD Connect, and Azure VM deployments
- Assist with disaster recovery design for assigned client environments, working alongside leadership to build and document DR strategies
- Assist with new client onboardings and offboardings end to end
- Support hardware replacement projects, servers, networking equipment, and endpoints
- Configure and support Hyper-V and VMware virtual environments
Recurring Maintenance Tasks
- Active Directory cleanup, stale accounts, group policy review, user lifecycle management
- MyITProcess, maintaining and updating client IT roadmaps and configuration items
- ImmyBot, managing automated software deployments and endpoint configurations
- IT Glue, keeping client documentation accurate and up to date at all times
- Backup testing and disaster recovery planning, regularly validating backups and ensuring DR procedures are current and accurate for each assigned client
- Routine environment health checks across assigned client tenants
Requirements
- MSP experience is required, no exceptions
- 3+ years of hands-on MSP experience with a strong client-facing and project delivery track record
- Proven experience migrating Windows Server environments, DC deployment, FSMO role transfers, DNS validation, legacy DC decommission
- Hands-on firewall work, SonicWall or Meraki deployment, rule configuration, VPN setup
- Solid networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching
- Microsoft 365 administration, users, licensing, security settings, Exchange Online
- Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity, Conditional Access, MFA
- Experience with RMM tools (Datto or similar) and a PSA ticketing system
- Comfortable in a documentation-first environment, IT Glue or similar
- Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery procedures
- Valid driverâs license and reliable transportation for client site visits
- Must be fully comfortable working on-site 5 days per week in Corona, CA
- Available for on-call weekend rotation
- Professional communicator, confident with clients in person, by phone, and by email
- Calm under pressure, proactive, and accountable
Nice to Have
- CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Azure certifications
- Experience with Datto BCDR or similar backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Familiarity with Azure VM deployments and hybrid cloud environments
- Experience with Hyper-V or VMware virtualization
- Familiarity with ImmyBot, MyITProcess, or IT Glue
- Experience supporting VoIP systems (RingCentral or similar), * Have you deployed and configured a SonicWall or Meraki firewall from scratch including VLANs and VPN setup? If yes, which platform and what was the scope of the deployment?
- Describe a situation where a client was frustrated or upset about a technical issue. How did you handle it and what was the outcome?
- Have you independently planned and executed a Windows Server domain controller migration?
