Job description
· Design, develop and optimize new and existing products, or components, ensuring functionality, safety and cost effectiveness
· Create detailed engineering drawings, CAD models and prototypes
· Perform design validation and testing to verify product functionality and adherence to customer requirements
· Work with production and quality on production optimization, including consideration of design-for-manufacturing
· Some collaboration with suppliers and vendors to source materials and components, ensuring optimal product quality and cost efficiency
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all design work and testing
Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering
- Ability to read and understand design drawings with geometric dimensioning tolerances
- CAD and 3D modeling skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Highly motivated and teachable
- Communication skills - strong written and verbal
- Ability to work in the plant as well as interacting with customers and suppliers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
