Job description

  • Lead the planning, design, and execution of large-scale engineering and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring realistic timelines and resource allocation.
  • Oversee civil design activities utilising Civil 3D, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects effectively.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across departments to align project objectives with organisational strategy.
  • Monitor project progress through regular reporting, identifying risks or delays early, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to health and safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies.
  • Optimise resource utilisation through effective time management practices across multiple projects.
  • Foster innovation by integrating new technologies or methodologies into project workflows for improved outcomes.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation including budgets, schedules, progress reports, and post-project evaluations.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Engineering and Infrastructure Projects to lead our organisation’s engineering initiatives and infrastructure development. This pivotal role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects, ensuring they align with organisational goals and industry standards. The successful candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to project management. Key responsibilities include managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance infrastructure resilience and efficiency. A strong background in project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and civil design software like Civil 3D is essential, alongside excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines., * Proven track record in managing large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects within a similar industry setting.

  • Extensive experience with Primavera P6 for project scheduling and resource planning.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D for civil design tasks such as grading, drainage, and site layout.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated success in managing diverse technical teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a focus on effective time management to meet project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with health & safety standards relevant to engineering projects.
  • Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; professional accreditation is advantageous.
  • Prior experience working within complex organisational structures or government bodies is desirable but not essential.
