Job description

Ready to make real, measurable impact in the automotive quality space? This IATF QMS Implementation Lead role is your chance to architect an integrated quality management system from day one, drive genuine cross-functional ownership, and help deliver certification outcomes that stand up to scrutiny. With the company simultaneously implementing Ideagen as its QMS platform, the work is dynamic, hands-on, and built for strong, credible leaders who can manage sequencing risk and turn plans into embedded practice.

As a IATF QMS Implementation Lead you will:

  • Lead the IATF QMS Implementation Lead programme through structured gap assessment and future-state architecture for IATF 16949 alignment.
  • Drive the redesign of core processes, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA (AIAG/VDA), Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and customer-specific requirements integration.
  • Build a clear process ownership model so accountability sits with the cross-functional business, not this role or Central Quality alone.
  • Orchestrate Ideagen configuration sequencing so the platform reflects IATF-ready processes, not legacy ISO 9001 ways of working.
  • Support the delivery of internal audit capability by building an audit schedule, coaching auditors, and closing findings through PDCA.
  • Oversee evidence generation and readiness reviews to support certification delivery, including Stage 1 and Stage 2 audit preparation., This IATF QMS Implementation Lead role sits firmly within the automotive manufacturing and engineering industry, helping the business transition from ISO 9001 to an embedded IATF 16949 Quality Management System. The goal is not a paperwork exercise: it is a cross-functionally owned, genuinely improved way of working that protects quality performance and strengthens operational discipline.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated track record leading at least one end-to-end IATF 16949 implementation or major QMS upgrade project (not just auditing).
  • Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 and core automotive tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA (AIAG/VDA), MSA, and SPC.
  • Experience within, or alongside, a Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive supplier, including redesigning processes and developing practical ownership.
  • Proven ability to lead change across cross-functional teams without direct line authority, from shop floor engagement to leadership alignment.
  • Familiarity with IATF certification preparation and internal audit programmes, plus an understanding of QMS platform configuration sequencing risk.
