Job description
- Meet with the Designer to understand the scope of work in advance, and work to produce preliminary and final estimates for a project.
- Help coordinate the flow of design projects through the estimating/specifying phase
- Schedule on-site visits with Designers, Production Team and Trade Specialists, and transfer project information.
- Verify the accuracy of data such as existing measurements and site conditions, and consult with trade professionals regarding design feasibility.
- Create material and labor estimate takeoffs.
- Prepare conceptual estimates and letters, final contract specifications and construction contracts.
- Work with the team to create a calendar for the project, including start and end dates.
- Offer value-engineered design alternatives, paying special attention to client’s requests, as guided by cost considerations, code constraints, and design “buildability”.
- “Redline” drawings as necessary when more information is required.
- Assist Designers in the selection of custom materials, finish materials, fixtures, and appliances if requested
- Arrange for the proper transfer of production packages to the Production Team
- Maintain a standard materials price list.
- Review job costs and update pricing information accordingly.

- Computer proficiency and demonstrated skill in using software such as Word, Excel, Sage100, BuilderTrend (estimating software is a plus!)
- Good interpersonal skills and concern for internal and external clients.
- Current product and cost expertise for doors, windows, skylights, cabinetry (made to order and custom), lighting, plumbing fixtures, finishes (such as tile, stone, solid surfacing, and laminates), millwork, appliances, and flooring.
- Understand the basics of all areas of residential construction, including, but not limited to demolition, concrete, framing, structural requirements, roofing, exterior finishes (stucco, siding, etc.) electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, flooring, painting, windows, hardware, etc.

Pay Range: $79,000.00 - $92,000.00 Annually
