Job description

The Marketing Manager is a strategic and creative role responsible for elevating the brand presence of the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE). As the largest varsity collegiate esports organization in North America, NACE requires an innovative marketer to drive engagement across competition marketing, membership communications, membership recruitment, and media strategy. This role will spearhead all digital marketing efforts, including social media strategy, email marketing, competition promotion, association communications and membership growth initiatives. The ideal candidate is a storyteller who understands the collegiate esports landscape and can translate our mission into compelling campaigns that resonate with students, staff, institutional stakeholders, and fans., * Manage, grow, and establish the voice for NACE’s official social media channels (e.g., X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Discord, Twitch, YouTube), developing comprehensive content calendars, tracking engagement analytics, and actively interacting with NACE’s core demographic(s).

  • Design, write, and deploy targeted email campaigns and newsletters to ensure consistent and engaging communication regarding association updates, organizational news, partnership announcements, and competition updates to member schools, staff, and students.
  • Develop and execute dynamic promotional campaigns to drive viewership, participation, and excitement for NACE competitive leagues, LAN events and annual convention.
  • Create data-driven campaigns focused on member recruitment and retention, highlighting the value of NACE varsity standards and actively showcasing the success stories of member programs.
  • Serve as the brand guardian for NACE, ensuring all external communications, graphics, and messaging strictly align with the organization’s mission, voice, and professional standards.
  • Oversee the part-time marketing team to drive on-time execution of weekly content strategy and creative queue.
  • Oversee the creation of digital marketing assets, including graphics, short-form video, and stream promotion.
  • Develop and oversee the strategy for the official NACE Community Discord, ensuring community initiatives align with broader marketing and organizational goals.
  • Own the overarching NACE website strategy, driving content development, SEO, and UX/UI improvements.
  • Develop student-focused programming to drive improvements in student learning & engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, Masters preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or digital media, preferably within the esports, gaming, or higher education sectors.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful social media and email marketing strategies at scale.
  • Deep understanding of the collegiate esports landscape and major competitive NACE titles.
  • Proficiency with standard email marketing platforms and social media management/analytics tools (Fedica).
  • Experience with digital creative and content tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Figma).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for copywriting, editing, and brand voice.
  • Strong ability to translate complex member offerings into easily digestible marketing communications.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support live events.
  • Good working knowledge of email/communication systems, community platforms, and all major social media networks, including Google Workspace, Discord, Twitch, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
