Job description

We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Web Designer to design, build, and maintain responsive websites and web-based applications. The successful candidate will combine strong visual design skills with technical expertise to create engaging, user-friendly websites that deliver an excellent customer experience across desktop and mobile devices., * Design, develop and maintain responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern web technologies.

  • Build and customise WordPress websites, themes and plugins according to business requirements.
  • Create visually appealing user interfaces with a strong focus on usability and accessibility.
  • Develop and maintain websites using CMS platforms including WordPress and Joomla.
  • Collaborate with management to understand business requirements and convert them into functional website solutions.
  • Optimise website performance, page speed and SEO best practices.
  • Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways and online forms where required.
  • Perform website testing, debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor website security, updates and regular maintenance.
  • Manage website hosting, deployment and version control.
  • Work closely with marketing teams to improve online visibility and digital campaigns.
  • Produce technical documentation and maintain coding standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong knowledge of: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Experience developing websites using WordPress.
  • Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first web design.
  • Experience using Bootstrap or similar front-end frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of PHP and MySQL.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
  • Understanding of website optimisation and SEO fundamentals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Joomla CMS.
  • Knowledge of Node.js.
  • WooCommerce development experience.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs.
  • Understanding of website security best practices.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Search Console.
